Description

Fresh bread with no proofing and no babysitting. Fleischmann's Bread Machine Yeast goes straight into the flour, and the dough needs just one rise before it's ready to shape or bake. Load the pan, press start, and the house smells like a bakery by dinner.

You get two 4 oz jars. Each one holds as much yeast as 16 of those little quarter-ounce envelopes, so this pair covers a lot of Sunday loaves before you're shopping for yeast again.

Not just for bread machines

The name undersells it. This is an instant yeast, and Fleischmann's says it works in regular bread recipes too and swaps one for one with their RapidRise instant yeast. Sandwich bread, dinner rolls, pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, soft pretzels, focaccia. If the recipe calls for instant or rapid rise yeast, this jar does the job.

How to use it

Add the yeast to your dry ingredients and warm the liquids to 120 to 130°F. No need to dissolve it first. Expect one short rest and one rise. When a recipe asks for one packet, measure about 2¼ teaspoons.

Allergen information

Fleischmann's published ingredient information doesn't include a "Contains" allergen statement. The ingredient list is three items long, shown below. We haven't confirmed a gluten free claim on the jar, so if you avoid gluten for medical reasons, check the label on the jar you receive before baking. Formulas change, so that's a good habit anyway.

Ingredients

Yeast, sorbitan monostearate, ascorbic acid.

Nutrition

The Nutrition Facts panel is printed on each jar.

Size and storage

Two 4 oz (113 g) jars. Keep sealed jars somewhere cool and dry. Once a jar is open, screw the lid down tight and keep it in the fridge, where Fleischmann's says it stays good for about four months. Don't freeze it, and use it before the date printed on the jar.

Prefer to proof your yeast the old-fashioned way? Fleischmann's Active Dry Yeast is the traditional two-rise version.
